Is it really "your" player when he never even put the uniform on for one game in college? I guess I don't see it that way. He was no more a Wolverine than he was a Badger, Sioux, Red Hawk, etc.
He signed a letter of intent to be a Wolverine and they were allowed to talk about him on the official website. I think that counts...
The hell with him, if he doesn't want to be here, but rather play in the OHL, I can't get rid of him fast enough. I sure hope he pans out, bit somehow I doubt it. he wasn't drafted at all last year, then ended up drafted higher tham most thought, now he goes to the O. Kid, you just blew it! If college is good enough for Johnson, Johnson, Toews, Kessel how does lewis think he's better than they are or more "ready"?
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I read something out LA's new GM having a different philosophy toward college hockey--mainly that he wants their picks in their system as soon as possible (but then why sign him and put him in the OHL???).
I think sometimes these kids are in too much of a hurry to believe what their NHL team will tell them (Hi, Andy Hilbert!) and they don't think things through all the way.
Packer, I agree. These kids believe whatever the NHL team says. Like you said, Hilbert. That is why Johnson is SO rare and continues to control HIS destiny!. Then again, Lewis and the others aren't in Johnson"s league. Lewis was passed up by EVERYONE inlast years draft, maybe he isn't the next "great one" for Michigan. Let's focus on who we have and especially because the ones here WANT to be at Michigan.
